44th Uppsala Short Film Festival
In October, CITYWALK -a Swedish animated short film by Malin Dahl - was screened at the Uppsala Short Film Festival in the Kortkort section – a program dedicated to very short, bold, and experimental works.
Uppsala Short Film Festival is Sweden’s only dedicated short film festival and one of Europe’s most important arenas for international short film, with a history dating back to 1982. Being part of such a respected platform meant a lot for us and for the film.
CITYWALK is a short animated film and was created as an exploration of movement, perception, and the tension between the urban exterior and inner emotional landscapes. Experiencing how the film resonated with the audience in a program full of inventive shorts was truly rewarding.
The film is directed by Malin Dahl (a Swedish director and screenwriter) and produced by Johnny Wernersson, Backa Studios.
A big thank you to the festival team for selecting the film and for supporting filmmakers who explore form, rhythm, and cinematic experimentation.
